East End Park - HDR Sunrise 3

By this time the tones were softening to the lighter pinks and blues until...Well, you'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see...

(I know that I said that this series would have five images, but I decided to drop one that was very similar to yesterday's image, so that could get some more recent, and I think better, images posted.)

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks, Jaycee! Funny that you ask that question, as it's something that has intrigued me for a while. I'm an Aquarius; I love to be near water, but I don't really care very much for being in it or in a boat. Does that make sense?

This goes far beyond beautiful. What an astonishing scene, and one which makes me feel both humble in the presence of Mother Nature's beauty, and also glad to be alive.

Your series is great fun, Eric... waiting to see how the moving clouds and low-angle rays will interact and what grand treat they'll offer next. We're all on the edge of our seats! My bet/hope: more of those higher clouds will drift farther into view and will really catch fire as the sun approaches or tops the horizon. Thanks, again, for sharing your good fortune and skill!

@Barry: Thanks, Bud! It was pretty cool that morning, especially for someone that didn't dress warm enough (but I won't say who that was, ahem, ahem...)

The only thing I can tell you about those photos is that everything was done in Adobe Lightroom. I don't use Photoshop at all, so no filters were applied, and I always process HDRs in Photomatix to look as natural as possible...that way, all my other options are left open for an image.
