East End Park - HDR Sunrise 1

Posted by Eric Fry (Houston, TX, United States) on 14 December 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

For the next five days, I have a series of HDR images of the sunrise taken at the same place in East End Park in Kingwood as my previous shot "Leaving You." These shots are in the order taken that morning, and are a good example, I think, of why one should stay around for a couple of hours at a good sunrise photo location. When the weather is just right, and there are clouds at different levels and distances, the change in the colors is truly spectacular. These photos were taken on November 30, 2008, a truly glorious day for a sunrise in Houston, TX. The morning was made that much better by the company of my best friend Barry.

Being at the end of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, there were dozens of planes flying through this scene on their approach to Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport, and I had to heal a couple of light trails out of this image. But strangely, in the next four images, there were no planes at all; all of the arrivals had landed by that time and there were no more for the next hour and a half.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you all have a great day,
Eric
