Beautiful colors. Is the Skipper a butterfly or a moth. Looks more like a moth to me. But then I am no expert.

@Marion: They're butterflies, Marion. Skippers are included in a separate family from what we would call traditional butterflies, due to some physical differences, but they are not considered to be moths. They do have a stubbier body than most butterflies, and there are some differences in their antennae.

I'm definitely not an expert on them either, but I have been learning more about them as I go along. Thanks for the compliment, Marion!

@PD: Actually, PD, all of my photos have been taken with Nikon point-and-shoots. I've gotten some very good results with them.

@Earnest: The strange thing is that I haven't seen a single Long-Tailed skipper this year, and they were all over the place last year.
