Hurricane Ike Series - Aftermath

Posted by Eric Fry (Houston, TX, United States) on 22 September 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

Just around the corner from my house, this was taken in the afternoon when the winds had died down to about 40 mph. It seemed fairly calm compared to the 100 mph sustained winds that came through earlier.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you all have a great day,
Eric

Wow....I can see this series is going to be quite a shocker for those of us who have not experienced a hurricane. I did experience a storm in Cornwall UK in 1988 http://www.stvincent.ac.uk/Resources/Weather/Severe/oct87.html
just in case you're interested....though if I were you I would have had enough of storms by now!!!

Can still see the ripples in the water that shouldn't be there. Love the name of the street. Redbud Lane. I hate to see trees down, but I guess better that than homes destroyed. Great photo Eric.

Great depiction of the incredible force of nature that can at the same time be so destructive and so awesome.
