Hurricane Ike Series - AftermathPosted by Eric Fry (Houston, TX, United States) on 22 September 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Just around the corner from my house, this was taken in the afternoon when the winds had died down to about 40 mph. It seemed fairly calm compared to the 100 mph sustained winds that came through earlier. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you all have a great day, Check out the photography of a friend of mine outside of Aminus3:

dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Stateswow -- wonderful reportage... need to catch up on your previous shots! how did your house fare in the end? all good? hope so! good to have you back with us! :) 22 Sep 2008 5:31am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWow....I can see this series is going to be quite a shocker for those of us who have not experienced a hurricane. I did experience a storm in Cornwall UK in 1988 http://www.stvincent.ac.uk/Resources/Weather/Severe/oct87.html 22 Sep 2008 7:49am Maxine from Rangiora, New ZealandYes calmer looking apart from the fallen trees and debris! 22 Sep 2008 1:00pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaCan still see the ripples in the water that shouldn't be there. Love the name of the street. Redbud Lane. I hate to see trees down, but I guess better that than homes destroyed. Great photo Eric. 22 Sep 2008 6:33pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesGreat depiction of the incredible force of nature that can at the same time be so destructive and so awesome. 22 Sep 2008 7:19pm |
