Sunrise Silhouette

Featuring my friend, Barry, as the unknowing model...

We had gone out to East End Park in Kingwood for some early morning shots. There were five that I thought were good enough to replace the bland vacation photos that were posted.

This is a beautiful photo! I love the silhouettes and the golden colors of the sunrise with even a hint of blue in the corner, great capture! It's worth getting up that early!

@Monique: Thank you very much, Monique! I'm up at 4 am every day, so it's not too difficult for me to get out that early. Barry has a bit harder time of it! haha...

@Observing: Thanks, Mike! We had hiked about a mile to one spot in the dark, but it was too wet to get out onto a small peninsula for some shots. By the time we got to this spot, the temp had gone from about 26 c up to 32 c or so. The humidity was very high, due to recent rainfall from Hurricane Dolly, and I was drenched with sweat! But it was very much worth the discomfort, as I got some great photos, and saw some very lush greenery.

@linerberry: Thanks, Linerberry! Yes, it is a great time of day for photos. My favorite, actually...A bit cooler, few people out and about, animals and insects moving about. If I could just find a lady that loves photography and early mornings, things would be great! ;)

@hugo poon: Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment, Hugo! This photo is a bit different from my normal fare, and came about somewhat by accident. We had gone out to get some sunrise photos at one spot of the lake. I had decided that I was only going to shoot a few landscapes and not spend any time on insect macros. To make a short story long, Barry had wound up quite a bit farther on the trail than I (there were a lot of great spiders that asked me to take their picture). So far, in fact, that he called me on my phone to ask me where I was at! As I walked up to the point where Barry was getting a few shots of the sun coming up over the river, this was what I saw...Quite a serendipitous delay for me, I think!

@Linerberry: LOL...It isn't very often that I can convince Barry to get up that early for a photoshoot, but at least he'll go sometimes!
