Here's Looking at You...(For Saeed)

Posted by Eric Fry (Houston, TX, United States) on 14 July 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual.

Not exactly a beach photo, but the inspiration for it came while I was walking along the beach. The inspiration was from Saeed's photo Colours... How in the world did I get from Saeed's photo to this? As I was walking on the beach, tired of taking shots of birds, and thinking about the great colors and lines in Saeed's photo, it came to me to compose something with what was available to me. I looked around and decided to gather some shells to use in still life shots and as backgrounds for other objects. Thank you for inspiring me to step outside of my usual field of subjects, Saeed!

I was just playing around a bit with the composition and camera settings here. I've also downloaded some presets for Adobe Lightroom that have some pretty extreme process settings. While this preset isn't one of the more extreme examples, it is quite a step outside of the way I would normally process an image.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you all have a great day,
Eric
