Button Bush has Finally Bloomed!

Posted by Eric Fry (Houston, TX, United States) on 20 June 2008 in Plant & Nature.

A rare plant native to East Texas, it lives near lakes and streams, and blooms only in Late May-June. I spotted the plant last September and have been waiting for it to bloom since then. Finally got the shot 5 days ago...

Taken at East End Park, Kingwood, TX.

I haven't had much time to comment on others blogs the past few days, but have been checking out all of the great photography work that you all post here at Aminus3. I'll be able to get around to leaving some comments this weekend, and after that I'm off to the beach for a vacation and photo outing...Take care and good lighting to you all!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you all have a great day,
Eric

This plant is a good one for attracting insects, Eric. Keep an eye on it.

@Earnest: Yes it is, Earnest. I got some good shots of a skipper when I got this shot.

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks, DJ! These are quite a beauty, as there's nothing else quite like them, and very little else blooming when they bloom.
