Iridescence 2

Posted by Eric Fry (Houston, TX, United States) on 19 June 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

One of my favorite macros, this little guy is about 3/16" in length (4mm). I never noticed all of the hairs on them until I got one on my computer screen (my eyes aren't that good anymore!)

There is a much better Macro coming up three weeks from today!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you all have a great day,
Eric

I'm going with the new Caspian Green template to show my support for our Aminus3 photobloggers in Iran. Many of them have been very courageous in bringing us photos from Iran during these uncertain times there; they deserve and need your support, too.

Check out the photography of a couple of my friends outside of Aminus3:
Brian Dykes' Blue Echoes Photography - Beautiful nature and city images from the guy that turned me on to Adobe Lightroom

DougOrama's Sports and Concert Photography - I wish I could take photos like DougO's...

@Fliss: Thank you, Fliss.

I think a lot of folks have trouble believing that I take all of these macros with a point and shoot camera. I can't wait to get the new Canon Rebel XSi and a good macro/portrait lens!

Amazing! I never realized bugs could be so beautiful.

30 Jun 2008 11:32pm

@Kara: Thank you, Kara. I've always been fascinated with insects, especially after I got into photography last year. The thing that surprised me about this fly is how hairy it is; I couldn't see them until I got the image onto my screen!

Je vais dire de plus que tu es un vrai artiste de l’image, probablement un long travail, qui abouti dans du magique , les insectes méconnus par la plupart des humains, tu nous donne un retour au chose de la vie.
